Headwater HEARDSHARE

WHAT MEMBERSHIP MEANS

By joining our herdshare, you become a partial owner of the herd and receive milk from the goats you co-own. This model supports transparency, animal welfare, and small-scale farming while remaining compliant with Oregon law. Membership is seasonal and offered on a limited basis.

The one-time herd share fee is due at sign up. Monthly boarding and care fees are due on or before the first day of each month. Milk distribution begins once payment is received.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

• Weekly raw goat milk allotment (seasonal)

• Convenient weekly pickup locations throughout Yamhill County

• Direct connection to your farmers

• Optional scheduled farm visits to meet the herd

• Regular updates throughout the season

Milk availability varies by season and herd production.

Quality and sustainability always come before quantity.

HERD SHARE COMMITMENT, TRANSFERS & PICKUPS

Herd share participation represents a shared commitment to the care of the animals and the ongoing operation of the farm. For this reason, herd share agreements are non-cancelable and herd share and boarding fees are non-refundable once entered into.

If circumstances change, members may pause milk pickups temporarily; however, boarding and care fees continue during this time and no refunds or credits are provided for missed or paused pickups, as animal care costs remain the same.

If a member is unable to continue, shares may be transferred to another approved participant. We’re happy to assist with the transfer process when possible.

PICKUP DETAILS

• Weekly pickup on a consistent schedule

• Multiple convenient locations throughout Yamhill County

(Currently Sheridan, McMinnville and Newberg)

• Members bring a cooler and promptly refrigerate milk after pickup

Milk is distributed in clean, food-grade glass jars through a jar exchange system.

• Please return jars clean and ready for reuse

• A $5 fee per dirty or unusable jar will be applied to help cover additional sanitation and replacement costs

Exact pickup locations, times, and jar policies are shared directly with members.

OPTIONAL ROUTE DELIVERY

For member convenience, limited drop-off may be available along our existing pickup route, between scheduled locations.

• Available by request only

• Must align with our established route and timing

• $5 convenience fee per delivery

• Not guaranteed every week and may vary with farm workload

Members are still encouraged to use regular pickup locations whenever possible.
