Yes—with important distinctions.
In Oregon, raw milk may not be sold retail for human consumption. However, it may be legally obtained through a private herdshare agreement. A herdshare is a contractual relationship in which members own a portion of the herd and receive milk from the animals they co-own. Milk is not sold by the gallon and is not available to the general public.
A herdshare is a private agreement between the farmer and the member.
As a member, you:
• Purchase a one-time share in the herd
• Pay a monthly boarding and care fee
• Receive milk from the goats you co-own
This model supports small-scale farming, animal welfare, and transparency while remaining compliant with Oregon law.
While raw milk is not pasteurized, we prioritize careful handling and cleanliness at every step.
Our practices include:
• Clean, routine milking sanitation protocols
• Healthy, well-managed Nubian goats
• Clean housing and pasture rotation
• Immediate chilling after milking
• Cold storage and clean containers
Herdshare members are encouraged to visit the farm, ask questions, and learn about our daily practices.
Fresh raw goat milk from well-managed goats is mild, clean, and slightly sweet.
Proper handling and rapid chilling are key to flavor. Our Nubian goats are known for producing rich, smooth milk without the strong “goaty” taste people sometimes expect.
Many people choose goat milk because it has:
• Smaller fat globules
• A different protein structure than cow milk
• Naturally homogenized qualities
That said, individual experiences vary. We encourage members to research and decide what works best for their household.
Herdshare pricing is structured in two parts:
• One-time herd share fee (establishes co-ownership)
• Monthly boarding and care fee
(covers feed, labor, veterinary care, and farm overhead)
Pricing may vary by season and milk availability. Please contact us for current rates or to join the waitlist.
Milk allotments are seasonal and depend on:
• Number of shares owned
• Herd production levels
• Time of year (kidding and dry-off seasons)
We focus on quality and sustainability rather than maximum production.
We offer weekly, convenient pickup locations throughout Yamhill County.
Main drop sites are in Sheridan, McMinnville, and Newberg
• Pickup occurs on a consistent weekly schedule
• Locations are communicated directly to members
• Farm pickup may be available by arrangement
Members are responsible for bringing a cooler and promptly refrigerating milk after pickup.
Yes. We believe connection matters.
Herdshare members are welcome to schedule farm visits, meet the herd, and see where their milk comes from. Visits are by appointment to protect animal routines and biosecurity.
Herdshare agreements are seasonal commitments. Policies regarding pauses, cancellations, and transfers are outlined in the herdshare contract provided prior to enrollment.

We love sharing the farm with our community. To keep our goats healthy and stress-free, all visits are by appointment only. Herdshare members are always welcome to schedule a time to meet the herd and see where their milk comes from. Thank you for helping us protect the animals in our care.
